Incorporate the food you already have !
Having a look through your pantry and fridge is an awesome place to start, It’s so easy to forget about that can of peas you bought a month ago or the food neglected at the back of the freezer. Making a list of things you have and seeing how you can incorporate them into meals is a create way to use up what you have and save you buying double ups at the supermarket.
Eliminate what you can.
So you’ve had a look at the food you have and its not going to cut it ? Don’t stress!
Before you write up the shopping list, have a chat to loved ones that you are going to be spending Christmas with about the food they rate and the food they hate. It’s a great way to eliminate food from the shopping list, reducing the risk of it going to waste and putting those coins back in your pocket (Winning!).
Plan it out!
When constructing your food list keep in mind what items might be in plastic and if there is a plastic free alternative or an item that it can be substituted for that isn’t wrapped in plastic.
No better feeling than nothing needing to go in the bin at the end of the day !
